BANGALORE: A 48-year-old lone woman was bludgeoned to death by three unidentified miscreants at her residence in Royal Lakefront Layout near Kotthanur Dinne in Subramanyapura police limits. She was murdered by bludgeoning her head with stone on Thursday night, but the incident came to light only on Friday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Rajamma, a widow. Her husband had passed away six months back.Rajamma was staying with her son Kiran who works in a private company on Bannerghatta Road and her daughter-in-law Navya.DetailsAccording to the police, Kiran had gone to Hassan on Thursday morning to attend a wedding while Navya was at her parent's house in Bidadi as she had delivered a baby six months ago.Kiran had spoken to his mother at around 8.30 on Thursday night, but she did not answer his calls on Friday morning. Later, Kiran informed his wife that Rajamma was not picking calls. As the latter did not answer Navya's call, Kiran asked one of his friends to check what had happened, the police said. When Kiran's friend sent a boy to the latter's house, it was found that the gate and the main door of the house were open.As he went inside, he found Rajamma lying in a pool of blood and the boy informed this to Kiran's friend, who in turn informed Kiran and the police, the police explained.Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar said, "It is suspected that the assailants are known to Rajamma as the doors were open and there is no forcible entry. Rajamma's ear rings are missing and just because of that we cannot conclude this is a murder for gain. We are working on some clues and the arrests would be made soon," he added. In the meantime, a source said that, a pornographic DVD, condoms and some liquor bottles were found in the scene of crime."It is suspected that the victim had sexual intercourse with one of the assailants and later she might have been killed. The post mortem and forensic reports are awaited," the source gave details.'Last call'Speaking to reporters, Navya said that Thursday was Rajamma's wedding anniversary and Kiran, before leaving to Hassan, had make her speak to Navya over the phone."That was the last conversation I had with my mother-in-law. I wished her and she told me that she had just returned home from temple," she said.Subramanyapura police have registered a case in this regard and they have taken up further investigations.
