KOCHI: The Anti-Corruption People’s Movement, Kerala, on Tuesday, submitted a memorandum to Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany, urging him to look into the alleged irregularities behind the functioning of the Corporation office. The issues like repair of roads, water-logging, cleaning of drains, mosquito menace are yet to be addressed due to the anomalies in the day-to-day functioning of the office, it alleged.“The roads of the city should be repaired immediately on a five-year guarantee basis. Proper projects should be drafted with the help of the residents in areas which are worst affected due to water-logging,” it said. The body also sought proper cleaning of the streets and to install waste bins and spit bins at various spots. “The fogging measures should be intensified to curb the mosquito menace,” the memorandum said. The Movement has mooted the formation of a Souhruda Samithi comprising social workers, various officials of the Corporation and other voluntary associations. The office-bearers of the Anti-Corruption People’s Movement also said that if the Mayor was not ready to consider their demands, which are important for the development of the city, they would be forced to organise strong protest measures against it.
