HYDERABAD: Srisailam reservoir is slowly filling up with large inflows of water being released from the Almatti and Narayanpur reservoirs in Karnataka on the upstream of Krishna river.The inflows into Srisailam has enabled APGenco to generate 11 million units from its two hydel power stations. On Sunday, the state generated 30.7 million units of hydel power and 84.5 million units of thermal power.The inflows into Srisailam on Monday were of the order of 1.09 lakh cusecs. As against its Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of 885 feet, the water level has risen to 868.8 feet. As the catchment areas of the Krishna in Karnataka have received heavy rains, the inflow into Almatti was 90,608 cusecs and the excess water is being discharged at the same rate. At Narayanpur too, the inflow was 92,000 cusecs and the outflow has been regulated accordingly. Jurala reservoir in Mahaboobnagar district is already full. As against its Full Reservoir Level of 1045 feet, the level is at 1041 feet after the heavy rainfall and the discharge is about 84,000 cusecs. The inflow into the reservoir was about 82,000 cusecs.
