Senior Congress leader and Chairman of the Chattisgarh Pradesh Congress Campaign Committee Motilal Vora on Monday released party's manifesto focusing on 22 points for the state ahead of assembly elections.
The promises covered concerns over parity in teacher salaries, low electricity bills, no illegal farmer lands acquisition, new government schemes for common man among other things.
The party has promised to increase compensation to Rs 10 lakh against Rs 5 lakh earlier for kins of journalists in the wake of accidents.
Furthermore, in a bid to pacify contractual teachers demanding hike in salaries, the party has said it will adopt "equal work, equal wages" formula.
Unfazed by criticism from all quarters over corruption in all its schemes for 'aam aadmi' like MNREGA , the party has yet again played the same trump card, deciding to launch new long-term schemes "in consultation with the needs and demands of the people".
To woo farmers, Motilal Vora has announced that the party will make sure the lands of farmers are not taken away/illegally acquired without their consent.
Addressing concerns of people residing in or around Naxal-infested Bastar, the party has said they will launch development schemes and ensure people do not have to migrate to other areas due to Naxal threats.
"Some administrative posts are vacant, we will get new officials to occupy these posts soon," Vora said.
Some other points raised by Congress in its manifesto are lesser property tax, increased allowance for handicapped and unemployed people, no tax for infertile land, double insurance facility for unorganised labourers, minimum support price for crops will be Rs 2 per quintal etc.
