MP Slaps NSA Charges on Two for Facebook Post on Goddess Kali
The duo was arrested from Mumbai on May 19 in a joint operation of Bhopal Police and Mumbai Police. They were arrested from Antop Hill in Mumbai and brought to Bhopal.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh government has slapped National Security Act (NSA) charges against two persons for allegedly posting offensive comments and obscene pictures of Goddess Kali on Facebook.

Police swung into action after some fringe groups warned of violence over the posts. Officials say the posts could have led to communal tension and disturbed public harmony.

The duo was arrested from Mumbai on May 19 in a joint operation of Bhopal Police and Mumbai Police. They were arrested from Antop Hill in Mumbai and brought to Bhopal.

According to a report in the Indian Express, SP (north) Arvind Saxena of Bhopal said that one of the accused is a bodyguard while other runs an electronics shop.

Both the accused are lodged in Bhopal Central Jail where they were served the NSA orders on Monday.

They have been charged under sections 295 (a) (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and 153 (A) (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth) of the IPC and Section 66 of the IT Act.
