KARIMNAGAR: K Narayana has been re-elected unanimously as the state secretary of the CPI for the third consecutive term. The announcement was made officially at the conclusion of the 24th state conference at the party office, Baddam Yellareddy Bhavan, in Karimnagar on Friday.Soon after his re-election, Narayana said party executive members would take a decision on the CPI contesting the bypolls on February 29.Thanking the party activists for the success of the conference, he urged them to extend similar support for the general strike to be organised by the trade unions on February 28.Vehicle rallies and pubic awareness campaigns would be held from February 25 to 27 across the state. Continuing his attack against roads and buildings minister D Prasada Rao, Narayana said he would conduct a public hearing at Sompeta on the proposed power plant and challenged Prasada Rao to join him for a debate.CPI national deputy general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy said statelevel conferences of the party would be conducted in Rajastan, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand from March 27 to 31.
