Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister R Ashoka said that the Naxal menace in the state was under control and the government would not let it aggravate. He also said that the Naxals operating in the state were hired from other states as the numbers of state-based Naxals were very less.
Speaking to reporters after launching Blackberry and Bluetooth printers services for traffic police, he said that most of the Naxals who hailed from the state had surrendered or dead in police operations. However, the commandos of Anti-naxal Force are conducting operations. “It’s better that Naxals should surrender and join the mainstream instead of facing legal action,” he added.Further he said that the government had plans to train selected policemen from the state, especially from the Anti-Naxal Force by Border Security Force personnel. Meanwhile, Ashok said that he had instructed the concerned police officers to book the mastermind behind Mangalore attack.
