HYDERABAD: The twoday CPI council meeting began at the party office here on Monday.CPI state secretary K Narayana said the meeting would discuss the present political situation in the state, drought and steps to be taken to strengthen the party at the grassroot level.He alleged that the ruling Congress and opposition Telugu Desam lacked commitment to discuss the drought situation and people’s problems in the Assembly.He described the notrust motion moved by the TDP against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government as a big drama. It was nothing but a show of strength by the ruling party in the Assembly, he said.The CPI state conference will be held at Karimnagar from December 21 to 24.It will discuss the Telangana issue, hike in the prices of essential commodities and other people’s problems, he said.
