Finance Minister K M Mani will inaugurate the third annual conference of the Panchami Swayam Sahaya Sangham, a self-help group initiative of the Kerala Pulayar Maha Sabha (KPMS), on Saturday.
As part of the conference, a massive rally of about 6,000 Panchami women workers will be taken out from the Ayyankali Square to the Putharikandam, KPMS patron Punnala Sreekumar said. The public meeting will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh, he added.
State Planning Board Member C P John, Commissioner for Rural Development M Nanda Kumar, Corporation Deputy Mayor G Happykumar and LIC Micro Insurance manager S Jayamohan would be present at the inauguration of the delegates session.
At the public meeting, Minister for Welfare of Schedule Castes and Backward Classes A P Anil Kumar will distribute education awards. Mayor K Chandrika will distribute awards to the best Panchami sanghams and coordinators.
