CHENNAI: Twenty students of the Kavi Bharathi Vidyalaya have been handed transfer certificates by the school management. The action is taken against students whose parents have not paid the fees, according to the management. The parents on the other hand have cried foul over the school’s action saying they had tried to pay the government-fixed fee, but the school had refused to accept it asking for the full fee fixed by them. This is the latest development in the standoff between an association for-med by parents and the management. Some of the parents have been insisting on paying only the fee fixed by the State government. Despite the fact that the school in question is a CBSE school, the parents cite a High Court order in a case that is still pending. The 20 parents, who had insisted on paying only the government-fixed rate, had been unable to pay any fees. So, the school refused to hand over the students’ report cards. This had led to a face-off on April 31. The management had said it would send the report cards by post. As it turns out, the management sent the report cards along with the TCs. The parents have called for their children to be reinstated till the HC adjudicates the matter.
