Pay more to reach airport now

BANGALORE: BMTC  has raised the fares for schedules plying on the Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) route. In a press release, BMTC said that the new fares are applicable from 12 midnight on Friday. The increase in fares has been attributed to the decision of  NHAI to collect toll for all vehicles travelling on BIAL Road, including the airport.  All normal services from and to Devanahalli will cost the passengers `1 more per ticket. In addition, all pass holders will have to pay `1 per trip. Passengers with Vaayu Vajra passes will have to pay `2.50 per trip and non-pass holders `5 extra per trip. The BMTC has exempted student, disabled pass holders and freedom fighters from the price hike.
