BANGALORE: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducted the postgraduate common entrance test (PGCET 2011) in 50 centres across the state on Saturday.The exam was held for subjects like ME/M Tech/M Arch/MBA (infrastructure management) courses offered by VTU, UVCE, UBDTCE. There were 15,500 enrolled students for ME/M Tech courses, of which 89.26 per cent attended the examination.The test for MBA will be held on Sunday from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM and for MCA PGET, it will be held from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.Sukrutha, a student from Bangalore, said the test was a smooth ride. She claimed that examination was easy for her as she had just completed her graduation.GlitchesThe examination witnessed a few glitches as some students complained about discrepancies in the OMR sheet.Nagashree G, a student from Tumkur, said that she faced inconvenience during the examination."I appeared for the electrical stream, and realised that my OMR sheet did not carry the option that had to be ticked," Nagashree said. Nagashree's OMR sheet was replaced when she brought the matter to notice.Examiner Vinay Kumar S, faculty of Computer Science, National College, agreed that there were a few problems with the OMR sheets. "The exam went on pretty smoothly and a few problems with the OMR sheets were also subsequently rectified. However, only few students faced this problem."
