New Delhi: Both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pratibha Patil condemn the terrorist bomb blasts in Guwahati.
Condemning the blasts in Guwahati, Manmohan Singh on Thursday said that the Government would root out terrorism taking the recent anti-terror measures to their logical conclusion.
"The Government will stay steadfast in its determination to root out terrorism and that the measures initiated recently in this direction will be taken to their logical conclusion," he said in a statement.
He expressed his deep condolences to the near and dear ones of those killed in the blasts and sympathies to those injured.
Pratibha Patil also condemned the serial blasts in Guwahati, which claimed five lives.
Patil expressed deep condolences to the family members of those who lost their lives in the blasts.
Five people were killed and over 50 injured in three blasts triggered by banned ULFA in Guwahati on Thursday shortly before Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's arrival in the state where serial explosions had claimed 88 lives just two months ago.
The three explosions took place at Birubari, Bhootnath and upmarket Bhangagarh areas.
