New Delhi: According to reports in the Australian media, the team has decided to protest against Cricket Australia for not backing them in the racism row.
Ponting and other cricketers will write a letter through the Australian Cricketers' Association to a Cricket Australia official who pressured them into downgrading the charge against Harbhajan.
The media report said that Cricket Australia tried to influence players on the grounds of financial repercussions if India were to withdraw from the one-day series.
The other reason they cited was lack of sufficient evidence.
ACA's chief executive Paul Marsh is angry that Australian players were portrayed as guilty by the judge who heard the appeal.
