The Bharatiya Janata Party is once again training guns on Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra. Party MP Kirit Somaiya is demanding an Enforcement Directorate probe into alleged links between Vadra and an arms dealer in connection with an alleged benami property in London.
"It has come out that Robert Vadra has some benami property in London. The property is being maintained and held in the name of arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. I have asked income tax department, ED and Finance Ministry to find out the truth," said Somaiya.
Reports claimed that investigating agencies are probing links between Vadra and an arms dealer and the former allegedly owned a property in London by proxy.
Reports added that Vadra exchanged several e-mails with dealer Sanjay Bhandari regarding renovation of the said property- 12 Ellerton House, Bryanston Square.
Vadra's lawyers have however refuted the allegations, claiming that there had been no business dealings with Bhandari. The apartment was bought in October 2009 and sold off in 2010.
