HYDERABAD: Think about Ramzan, and the first thing that comes to anybody’s mind is Haleem, Biryani or shopping. But, this is also the time when people fast and offer prayers to the Lord. This Ramzan, even the Quran, gets tech-savvy. Now, an all new audio-avatar of Quran, in the form of a pen has hit the market. The Quran pen, or the Tajweed book, comes with a copy of Quran printed in rich Uthmani font, a functional manual, ear phones, charger and a Tajweed book. Now, what makes this Tajweed book special? By just a touch on the page or a verse, the pen can read any verse of the Quran loud and clear. And, that’s not all. One can also choose the recordings of famous reciters such as Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, Abdul Baset Abdu Essmad, Ali Al Hudhaifi, Sa’d Al-Ghamidi. And in a push of another button, the translations of Quran into English, German, Urdu, Persian and French versions is also made available. “The pen is of great help for people who cannot read the Arabic script. They can learn to read the Quran in the right diction and people can even also improve their recitation and do it according to the Tajweed rules,”says Abdul Momin, manager, Himalaya book store, Khairatabad branch. The pen also has a four GB memory with a TF card option to extend it. There is also a recording option and a built-in speaker with a USB port.“Apart from the recorded Quran verses in it, one can also connect it to the computer and add their favourite prayers to it,”adds Momin. The Tajweed Book can only read the accompanying Quran, since it connects with the special ink used in the print. The product has been manufactured in China and Malaysia and is available at any Himalaya book store in the city. “With the advent of Ramzan, the demand for the product has increased so much, that it has forced us to give a discount of 25 per cent on the product. It actually costs about `5,000, but now we are selling it at `3, 750,” adds Momin. The pen will also cater to the prayer needs of the blind and the dumb people. “This is very helpful for them as now they can at least listen to it and pray during Ramzan,” Momin concludes.
