Yash Raj Films has officially revealed the release date for Alpha, the much-anticipated action entertainer led by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh. Aplha will mark the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on December 25, 2025. YRF’s official social media channels shared the news along with a striking poster.
“On Christmas 2025, #ALPHA will rise! Get ready for an action-packed holiday… 25th Dec, 2025,” Yash Raj Films wrote.
Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh will portray super agents in the action-packed thriller film. Reportedly, joining them will be Bobby Deol as the main antagonist and Anil Kapoor. Hrithik Roshan is also expected to make a cameo. Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is an exciting new entry in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe which includes popular hits like Salman Khan’s Tiger, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, and Hrithik Roshan’s War.
Alia also shared the announcement on her Instagram Stories. Meanwhile, Sharvari posted the film’s poster, featuring its theme music.
In July, a brief teaser was released, revealing the title of the film alongside a powerful voiceover by Alia explaining its meaning. In the video she posted, Alia said, “Greek alphabet ka sabse pehla akshar, aur hamari program ka motto. Sabse pehle, sabse tez. Sabse veer. Dhyan se dekho toh har sahar mein ek jungle hein. Aur jungle mein humesha raaj karega… Alpha (The first letter in the Greek alphabet, and the motto of our program. The first, and the fastest. The bravest. Pay attention and every city is like a jungle. The one who will rule that jungle is… Alpha).” The teaser showed the design of Alpha and ended with the announcement: ‘Filming now.’
Ever since the teaser announcement, Alia and Sharvari also shared a playful behind-the-scenes moment. In August, Alia dropped a photo that featured her with Sharvari. In the photo, both actresses are standing with their backs to the camera, forming a heart shape with their arms above their heads. They appear to be in a scenic outdoor location with a misty, forested backdrop and a flowing river. The caption read, “Love, ALPHA!”
Meanwhile, Alia is gearing up for the release of her latest Vasan Bala directorial Jigra, also starring Vedang Raina. Sharvari was last seen in Munjya and Vedaa.
