Rain normal in state

BANGALORE: The Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Karnataka, has observed deficit rainfall in Bangalore Urban, Rural and surrounding districts. The department said  rainfall was normal in Gulbarga, Bagalkot, Belgaum, Dharwad and Gadag during the first week of October. The pattern of rainfall among 176 taluks, according to the department, showed excess rainfall in 27 taluks, normal rainfall in 19 taluks, deficient rainfall in 31 taluks, scanty rainfall in 66 taluks and no rain in 33 taluks.
