BANGALORE: Endorsing senior BJP leader L K Advani's view that the image of the party and the state government had taken a beating, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa assured of an improvement for the "sullen" image of the government inside six months.
He was speaking after moving the Rs 87,137 crore 'The Karnataka Appropriation Bill, 2011,' for approval in the Legislative Council here on Tuesday; the Bill was okayed without a debate sans the Opposition parties.Accusing the Opposition parties, Congress and JD(S), of uniting to "paint black" his government ever since its inception, Yeddyurappa challenged them to face the 'people's court', while referring to the 2013 Assembly elections.

He asserted that elections are the real acid test for any ruling or Opposition party on the basis of its achievements or flaws, as people would then vouch for their respective performances. Yeddyurappa said that the BJP won most of the elections, including that to the Lok Sabha, panchayats, urban local bodies and other institutions, in the last three years. "The BJP making inroads into the bastions of Congress and JD(S) is their main grouse against our government," he asserted.
