New Delhi: Sometime back Jeev Milka Singh and Jyoti Randhawa were great rivals in Indian golf. But now times have changed, while Jyoti is still struggling to make his mark on the big stage, Jeev will rub shoulders with the best in the world.
"What Jeev has done in last three years is huge. I think he is definitely the best golfer right now in Asia. Quite lot of times before when we have played together we have beaten each other but he is a great inspiration right now and he is one to be followed in Asian golf,” says Kyoti.
“He has been one of my idols along with Jyoti and it has been great to see the way he has performed over the last couple of years. He is the true grinder,” says another golfer Himmat Rai.
As Jeev isn’t around for the SAIL Open, his rivals are breathing easy.
“He is a dangerous player. He is in top form right now. It is good to see that he is not here to compete with us,” says golfer Thaworn Wiratchant.
To finish in a tournament ahead of Tiger Woods is no mean achievement and Jeev clearly seems to have paved the way for a lot of these young Asian golfers as they come up the ranks with dreams in their eyes and the right role model to emulate.
