Row over naming Hyderabad Airport DomesticTerminal after NTR, Telangana government says consent not taken
The Union Civil Aviation minister Ashok Gajapati Raju has defended the move in the Rajya Sabha.

Hyderabad: The Civil Aviation Ministry had last week issued an order naming of the domestic terminal at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad after the Telugu matinee idol, TDP founder and former AP chief minister N T Ramarao. Since then opposition party Congress has been opposing the move. The Congress members demanded that Rajiv Gandhi's name should continue in both the domestic as well as the international terminals of the airport.

Ruling TRS state government says that Hyderabad is located in Telangana and the Centre had decided to name domestic terminal after NTR without taking the consent of the TRS government in the state. Telangana legislative assembly has passed a resolution requesting centre to reconsider its decision last week.

Meanwhile, the Union Civil Aviation minister Ashok Gajapati Raju has defended the move in the Rajya Sabha.
