New Delhi: Gujarat Governor O P Kohli said Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and no other language can flourish without its help.
"Sanskrit is a pillar of our tradition, history and heritage which has made enormous contribution to what India is today. Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and has played a vital role in the development of all Indian languages and in the preservation of our cultural heritage. No Indian language can flourish without the help of Sanskrit," he said.
The Gujarat Governor was addressing a gathering after launching the website of Sanskrit Department of University of Delhi to mark 60 years of excellence in Sanskrit research.
He appealed to the teaching fraternity to find a long-lasting solution to the challenge of low popularity and interest among students faced by Sanskrit language since it is impossible to preserve our national cultural heritage without traditional learning of this ancient language.
