Gopal and Sushil Ansal who were undergoing a year-long jail term.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court Friday granted bail to real estate tycoons Gopal and Sushil Ansal who were undergoing a year-long jail term following their conviction for lapses that led to the June 1997 Uphaar theatre fire tragedy.
A bench of Justice S B Sinha and V S Sirpurkar granted the Ansal brothers bail on a petition filed by them, challenging their convictions in the case.
Fifty-nine people, including 22 children, had died and over 100 were injured in the fire in the south Delhi cinema hall owned by the Ansal brothers.
