School of economics is a closed chapter: BU V-C

BANGALORE: The saga over Bangalore School of Economics is far from over. A day after a team of Syndicate and Academic Council members announced that they would meet Dr Sitaram Jindal to clear the air that there was no opposition for the setting up of School of Economics, Bangalore University Vice-Chancellor Dr N Prabhu Dev finds the effort ‘amusing’.“It is amusing that a section of Syndicate kills the project by planting a story of a real estate deal in one newspaper and another of the same group goes to Dr Jindal to revive the project,” Prabhu Dev stated in a letter. He added, “The senior members of this group in a discussion on a news channel said that the School with a Rs 100 crore grant was a rehabilitation centre for me. I do not need one. I have been insulted, humiliated and I am hurt,” said Prabhu Dev.  “As far as I am concerned, the chapter of School of Economics under BU is closed,” he stated.
