BANGALORE: The state Cabinet fixed tariff to purchase power generated from non-conventional sources, Minister for Higher Education Dr V S Acharya said. He said here that the KERC had directed the state government to fix the tariff to purchase power generated through non-conventional sources.The price of every unit of power generated via solar photovoltaic cell plants and solar thermal units has been fixed at Rs 14.5 and Rs 11.35 per unit, respectively. It is mandatory for all electricity supply companies to source 0.25 per cent of power from non-conventional energy sources annually.
