VELLORE: The only passenger who escaped from the bus before the explosion was Karthik Rajan, a school teacher of Velammal High School. Rajan was reportedly thrown out of the vehicle, something that saved his life.His brother Rajesh Kannan said Rajan and wife Sunitha were on their way to attend the house-warming ceremony at Sunitha’s brother’s place in Tirupur on Wednesday. Both were teachers, who got married in 2004. They were believed to be among the first to board the bus. Witnesses said Rajan was taken to the Kancheepuram GH, after which the police questioned him on Wednesday morning. When he was finally allowed to go, Rajan sat in the car, almost unconscious and speechless. He was in a state of horror, of not being able to pull his wife out in the nick of time, said his brother.
