Statue of Liberty to reopen for public
From July 4, visitors will be taken to the crown in groups of 10 by a park ranger.

New York: The crown of the Statue of Liberty will be thrown open to the public once again next month. But before that journalists got a tour of the ‘Lady of Liberty’ on Wednesday.

Starting 4th of July, the American Independence day, visitors will be taken to the crown in groups of 10, guided by a park ranger.

Entry to the crown had been restricted due to security reasons ever since the 9/11 attacks, although the base, pedestal and lower observation deck have since been reopened.

The Statue of Liberty's crown opens for the first time since terrorists leveled the World Trade Center just across the harbour.

After climbing up to the crown, visitors will be rewarded with exhilarating views of New York's skyscrapers, bridges and seaport.

The Statue of Liberty will be opened to the public for the next two years.

Then it will be closed again for more safety work.
