Storage tanks to be handed over by mid-2012

KOCHI: The construction of two storage tanks for the proposed Petronet LNG Terminal project will be completed by the end of this year and would be handed over to the Petronet by the middle of 2012, the officials of IHI Corporation Japan, which constructs the storage tanks, said.The construction of LNG Receiving, Storage & Regasification Terminal at Kochi is in full swing.“We expect we can hand over the tanks to Petronet by the middle of next year,” said Naoki Ikoma, project site manager of IHI Corporation. He also said the construction was going on smoothly. “We hope that we can complete the work on time. We started the work in February 2008,” Ikoma said.
