BNAGALORE: The number of final-year students rushing to Bangalore University to get marks-cards of their earlier semesters is increasing as the last date for applying to Postgraduate admission is nearing. On Thursday, three students from a Government College in Chintamani were seen waiting despondently outside the Registrar's (evaluation) office. The students said that their first semester marks-cards have not been given though they are now in their final year. "We had taken Urdu as our second language and the marks were erroneously printed as marks secured in Kannada. Hence, the marks-cards were not given to us. But, even two years later they have not given us the marks-cards," said one students. They wanted their marks-cards now as they cannot apply anywhere else without it.When The New Indian Express spoke to the officer in-charge, he confirmed that the students' claim was genuine but said that the university cannot be held responsible for such errors. In another case, around 30 final year students from the Government College in Doddaballapur staged a protest in front of the vicechancellor's office for not giving reevaluated marks on time, as the date to apply for postgraduate courses is just around the corner.
