Three sisters tried to committed suicide by jumping into the Kelavarapalli dam downstream on Monday. While two of them died, the other sister is said to be in a serious condition.
According to sources, Seetha (40), Suma (34) and Alamelu (29), are daughters of Gopal Iyer of Chennasandiram village near Hosur. Seetha after her marriage was living with her husband in Bangalore. A few years ago Suma and Alamelu moved to Seetha’s house and started working in Bangalore.
The three siblings, who came to their father’s place in Chennasandiram village on Sunday night, left home on Monday morning.
As the daughters did not return home even after a long time, Gopal Iyer and others searched for them. They found all the three lying in the downstream of Kelavarapalli dam.
On information Bagalur police rushed to the spot, recovered them and sent to Hosur GH. While Seetha and Alamelu were declared ‘brought dead’, Suma was battling for life in the hospital. Gopal Iyer said that his daughter spoke to him normal the previous night and could not make out the reason for their extreme step.
The reason behind the sisters’ decision would come to light only after Suma, who is an unconscious state, gains consciousness.
According to police, the sisters seemed to have consumed poison before jumping into Thenpenniyar river passing through Kelavarapalli dam.
