New Delhi: Looks like actor Bharath is experimenting with his looks in his recent films. After Aravaan, where he played a tribal man in a blink-and-miss appearance, it looks like another new avatar is in store for the actor. This will be in his next flick 555 (read aiyinthu, aiyinthu, ayinthu), which is directed by Sasi.
The film has been under production for over a year. And why? The crew was waiting for actor Bharath to have a total makeover for his role, says the director, who is back after a brief hiatus after Poo.
"It is an intense action thriller which is different from routine commercial flicks. We have completed 50 per cent of the film and are planning to reveal the lead pair's looks only two months before the release of the film," he says.
Talking about Bharath's new look, Sasisays, "Bharath has been slogging it hard to essay this role, but that is all I can tell you about him. His look and role will be a secret. The film’s shooting had been slow only to make sure the lead actor looked what the role demanded of him. Shooting will soon resume at a brisk pace. I'm hoping for an August release. "
Director Sasi clearly is a filmmaker who would not want to be slotted. Every film has been a different experience. "In my previous films like Rojakootam and Poo, the story was the focus. But now, in order to not be straitjacketed, I am making 555, which is a hero-centric action flick."
555 is another film to catch on the trend of keeping numbers for film titles. From 3 to 6, our directors have tried their hands with different numbers, perhaps hoping to get the right numbers at the box office. "Much before other films got numerical titles registered, I had sought 555 (aiyinthu, aiyinthu, ayinthu). It's not only to attract the crowd, as I have woven the story around the title."
The film will also feature Chandini from the US, who will play the female lead, he says.
