'Teen's Father Dialled Pune Doctor 14 Times Before Blood Test': New Details Emerge In Porsche Crash Case
Pune Porsche Accident News: Dr Ajay Taware and builder Vishal Agarwal spoke 14 times over WhatsApp, Facetime and normal calls.

Dr Ajay Taware, head of the state-run Sassoon hospital’s forensic medicine department, spoke to builder Vishal Agarwal, Pune Porsche accident accused’s father, at least 14 times over phone.

The police suspect that the calls were to discuss the ‘change of blood sample’ as the conversations took place during the collection of samples for testing.

Taware along with hospital’s chief medical officer Dr Shrihari Halnor and staff member Atul Ghatkamble have been arrested for allegedly throwing away the minor’s blood samples, taken after the accident on May 19, and replacing them with the samples of another person’s blood which had no traces of alcohol.

Two IT professionals were killed after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Porsche car allegedly driven by the 17-year-old boy in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar area in Pune. The blood report is a key piece of evidence as police claim the teenager had visited two pubs prior to the incident.

Officials told News18 that the first call between Taware and Agarwal took place around 8:45 am, following which 14 calls were made till 11 am. These conversations happened over WhatsApp, Facetime and normal calls.

Dr Ajay Taware’s Residence Searched

According to officials, some documents related to earlier cases, where Dr Taware is under scanner, was recovered from his home during Pune police’s search.

Sources said that the police is trying to ascertain the amount that was promised or given to Taware by Agarwal family.

The staff of Sassoon hospital has reportedly complained to the vigilance committee that Dr Taware used to ask his employees to get alcohol to the hospital.

A three-member committee conducting inquiry into alleged manipulation of the blood samples of the juvenile driver visited the Sassoon General Hospital on Tuesday, and also met police officials who are probing the case.

Sources said the committee members visited the casualty department and also understood the process of blood sample collection, its preservation and dispatch to the forensic science laboratory.

On Tuesday, Judicial Magistrate First Class A A Pande remanded Vishal Agarwal in police custody till May 31 in a case where he and his father Surendra Agarwal are accused of putting pressure on the family’s driver to take blame for the accident to shield the boy.

Surendra Agarwal, the minor’s grandfather, was already arrested in this case for allegedly kidnapping the driver and putting him in illegal confinement. On Tuesday, Magistrate Pande extended his police custody till May 31.

Vishal Agarwal (50) was earlier arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act for allegedly exposing the minor to danger by giving him a car.
