THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Medical College police have initiated an inquiry into the disappearance of the ‘Nazhikamani’ (clock) from SAT Hospital. The investigation was ordered by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy following the submission of a petition by AIYF, Thiruvananthapuram district committee, regarding its disappearance. In the petition, the AIYF had alleged that the parts of ‘Nazhikamani’ were stolen once their value came to light with the opening of vaults inside the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple. AIYF had said that two similar valuable ‘Nazhikamanis’ were unearthed from the vaults and the ‘Nazhikamani’ at SAT Hospital also was of equal worth or more. The police said that they will meet the Medical Superintendent of SAT on Monday to collect more information on the ‘Nazhikamani’. The stolen ‘Nazhikamani’ had belonged to the antique collection of Travancore Palace and was later transferred to the Hospital.
