Thief killed as iron rod falls on him

BANGALORE: A 30-year-old man, who is suspected to have entered a garage to steal, died after an iron rod fell on him.
The incident was reported in a garage behind Kalyani Motors near Nayandahalli Circle on Mysore Road.The deceased has been identified as Hanumantha, a native of Gulbarga. The police suspect that Hanumantha had entered the garage, where old vehicles were dumped to steal, when an iron rod of a JCB vehicle accidentally fell on him and he succumbed to his injuries on the spot. "When trying to know his identity, some driving licenses were found. When the license holders were contacted they told us that their licenses were stolen. Even other evidences were available to come to a conclusion that the deceased had come to commit theft in the garage," the police said.
