To stay off school, boy glues his hand to bed

London: A 10-year-old Mexican boy was so reluctant to return to school after Christmas holidays that he glued his hand to his bed.

Diego's mum Sandra Palacios spent nearly two hours trying to free her son’s hand with water, oil and nail polish remover before calling authorities.

“I didn't want to go to school because vacation was so much fun,” The Sun quoted Diego as stating in a local newspaper.

Palacios revealed that Diego sneaked into the kitchen in the early morning to get the industrial glue, which he then slathered on his right hand.

She told a Mexican newspaper that she didn’t realise when her son got up to do so but later she woke and found him watching television with his hand fixed with the bed.

“I don't know why he did it. He's a good boy, but mischievous like all kids,” she said.

The boy’s hand was fine, and paramedics managed to detach him from the bed in time for class.
