BANGALORE: Depressed after his mother asked him to stop watching television and concentrate on studies as he had failed in his 8th standard exams, a 14-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Ramanjanappa Layout of A Narayanapura in Mahadevapura police station limits on Friday.The deceased has been identified as Naveen, a student of a private school in Indiranagar and son of Venkatesh and Dhanalakshmi. Venkatesh is employed as a van driver at a private school.According to the police, Naveen had failed in his 8th standard exams. On Friday afternoon his mother scolded him for watching television and asked him to study instead, and went outside.Depressed over this, Naveen hanged himself with a dhoti.When his mother returned, she found her son hanging. Later, the police were informed about the incident.
