KOCHI: A person accused in a murder case attempted to escape from the police custody at North Railway Station while he was brought from the Viyyur Central Prison to the court for the trial of a case on Tuesday. The person, Mujeeb Rehman, 38, is accused of murdering his wife and the trial of the case started at the judicial magistrate court here.The police said that he escaped from the police custody by diverting the attention of the policemen who accompanied him while they reached railway station. However, the policemen chased and nabbed him at railway station premises itself. He suffered minor injuries by banging his head on the floor and creating a dramatic scene after he was caught by the police. A case has been registered against him.
