Unfortunate, says Shah Rukh Khan on 'Darr' inspiring Dipti Sarna's stalker
Actor Shah Rukh Khan said that films are never made with the intention to inspire people in a negative way.

Days after the Ghaziabad police revealed that Snapdeal employee Dipti Sarna's stalker was inspired by Bollywood movie 'Darr', actor Shah Rukh Khan termed it as "unfortunate".

The actor said that films are never made with the intention to inspire people in a negative way. He added that it was unfortunate that people got negatively affected by films.

He said, "Our work influences our fans in a bigger way that we think. There are times when people get negatively affected. It is unfortunate."

Investigations into the abduction of Dipti Sarna had revealed that the plot was stranger than a Bollywood potboiler and that main accused Devendra was inspired by the 1990s Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Darr'.

The police had said that the stalker's favourite books were Adolf Hitler's biography, Mein Kampf, which he read in jail, and the history of Genghis Khan's conquests. And he was deeply inspired by Darr, a romantic psychological thriller in which SRK played the stalker.
