Woman Drugged, Raped by Two Men in Uttar Pradesh

A 27-year-old woman was raped while she travelling to Firozabad in an autorickshaw in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that the autorickshaw driver and his partner offered cold drink to the victim laced with sedatives. Once she became semi-conscious, the accused took her into a chamber in a nearby farm and raped her.

Sensing trouble the accused fled away.

Later the victim lodged a complaint with the local police. "We are investigating the matter and it is yet to be known why she accepted the cold drinks offered by the accused," sources in the police department said.

So far no one has been arrested in this connection. The incident once again raised several questions about the law and order situation in the state.

Recently, a mother and her teenage daughter was raped by a dozen of the people in Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.
