Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra

Come January, the ancient city of Ayodhya itself will resonate with chants, celebrations, and unparalleled joy as it witnesses its monumental homecoming – the inauguration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, also reverently known as Ram Janmabhoomi. The journey to this moment has been steeped in a mixture of faith, hope, and controversy. Ayodhya, birthplace of Lord Rama, carries immense spiritual and cultural significance. The eagerly awaited Ram Temple’s grand consecration is set for January 22, 2024. Invitations have been extended to cricketers, industrialists, actors, and families of Karsevaks, including representatives from 50 foreign countries. The Ram Janmabhoomi Trust invited 7000 people, including 3000 VVIPs and 4000 seers. Tight security measures are in place, and PM Narendra Modi will install the idol of Ram Lalla in January 2024. The temple, rooted in the decades-long Ram Janmabhoomi movement, symbolizes the reclaiming of the sacred site. PM Modi laid its foundation stone on August 5, 2020.

Shri Shri Rukmini Dwarkadhish mandir, Delhi

In May 2024, ISKCON Dwarka, Delhi, unveils the Shri Shri Rukmini Dwarkadhish—a transformative sanctuary spread across two lush acres. The visionary centre offers amenities and initiatives for community growth and well-being. ISKCON Dwarka’s impactful initiatives include distributing over 5 crore meals during the COVID-19 pandemic, establishing a 200-bed hospital, and providing counseling services to 25,000 individuals. The upcoming “Centre for Permanent Happiness” will feature a modern kitchen serving 1 lakh daily meals, classrooms for value-based education, and a meditation hall for over 10,000 people. Individuals can become Sudama Sevaks by sponsoring a tile, contributing to the temple’s legacy.

Sri Jagannath Puri Heritage Corridor

The Puri Heritage Corridor, dedicated to devotees on January 17, 2024, is a transformative project around the iconic Jagannath Temple. Costing Rs.943 crore, the 1.5 km Srimandir Parikrama aims at beautifying the temple’s perimeter. The inauguration, attended by prominent figures, showcases a monumental step in Odisha’s spiritual and cultural history. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone in November 2021. The delayed project overcame challenges, including legal disputes and the pandemic. The development is crucial for Puri’s cleanliness and infrastructure, aligning with a broader Rs.3,300 crore initiative. Analysts note its political significance for the Biju Janata Dal ahead of upcoming elections.

Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir

The Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir, or Temple of the Vedic Planetarium (TOVP), under construction in West Bengal, India, will be the world’s largest Hindu temple at 113 meters. Dedicated to Radha Hadhava, it accommodates 10,000 people and features one of the world’s largest domes. Construction since 2010 nears completion, with an expected inauguration in 2024, delayed by the pandemic. Symbolizing Vedic cosmology, the TOVP blends Eastern and Western architectural styles. Located 80 miles from Kolkata in Mayapur, it offers an interactive showcase of Hindu stories and Vedic cosmos. Visitors can enhance their experience by understanding the temple’s symbolism and mythology.

Viraat Ramayana Temple

Construction of the “world’s largest Ramayan temple” in Bihar’s East Champaran began on June 20, 2023. Led by former IPS officer Acharya Kishor Kunal and ex-Chief Justice S. N. Jha, the foundation stone was laid following religious rituals. The Viraat Ramayan temple, slated for completion by end-2024 at ₹500 crore, will surpass Cambodia’s Angkor Wat in height. Spanning 3.76 lakh sq. ft. in Kaithwalia-Bahuara villages, it features 12 domes, the tallest reaching 270 ft, and 22 sanctum sanctorums. Inspired by Angkor Wat, Ramanathaswami, and Meenakshi Sundareshwarar, the temple will house a 33-ft black granite Shivling and accommodate 20,000 people.
