Los Angeles: Chris Rock stars in the first promo for the 2016 Oscars and the comedian has compared the ceremony to New Year's eve.
Rock, who is hosting the Academy award this year, debuted the funny promo, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"Much like New Year's Eve, it'll be a night that ends with a lot of drunk, disappointed people swearing they'll do
better next year," Rock shared in the short clip.
Rock also shared the video on his Twitter profile, where he continued to joke about the night, writing: "There will
always be 3 constants. Death, taxes and the Oscars. Hope all 3 don't happen to me this year."
The comedian was officially confirmed as the host of the 2016 Academy Awards ceremony for a second time back in
October, and previous host Ricky Gervais reacted to the news by reaching out to Rock on social media to offer to share some of his leftover "offensive material".
Meanwhile, Rock was making his own headlines this week as he responded to Jennifer Lawrence's wage gap essay with the suggestion she'd have "more to complain about if she were black".
The 2016 Oscar nominations will be announced on January 14, before the ceremony airs on February 28 on ABC in the US, broadcasting live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
