The much-awaited shooting of megastar Rajinikanth's upcoming film 'Enthiran 2.0', which will be directed by Shankar, has finally kicked off in Chennai.
Lyca productions, who produced the film, had been planning a grand launch for it, but it had to be postponed due to heavy rains and flooding in Chennai.
The filmmakers decided to start the shoot in a simple manner.
The film also features Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. The actor has been roped in to play the antagonist in the film which went on the floors today.
As reports suggest leading lady Amy Jackson will reportedly be playing a robot.
While AR Rahman will compose the film's music, Nirav Shah will crank the camera.
The movie is being shot in the 3D format and several top technicians have joined the project to ensure it turns out to be a world class film. For special costumes, which also play a key role in the film, Mary E Vogt has been roped in.
