Back in 2021, Dia Mirza welcomed her first child, son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi, with her husband Vaibhav Rekhi. On her baby boy’s third birthday, the actress shared a bundle of photos from his birthday celebration and also penned an emotional note.
The note read, “14th May 2024, Our heartbeat turned 3 yesterday Avyaan Azaad you have taught us the power of faith, patience, love and gratitude. Bless you our little master! Thank you for choosing us to be your parents. Thank you for making every day joyful ❤️.”

Back in 2022, months after welcoming Avyaan, with her partner Vaibhav Rekhi, Dia Mirza penned a sweet note for her son on Instagram. With a picture of herself when she was four months pregnant, the actress wrote, “Becoming a mother is the best gift nature gave me. Every moment has been filled with light and joy. From the time I first discovered I was pregnant, to every single moment since, nature’s force has revealed itself to me in the most magical ways.”
“And no, it wasn’t easy going through the trauma of an extremely premature delivery and subsequent complications. But, the faith that you chose Avyaan Azaad to be your mother was unshakable even when we went through our challenges. Thank you for choosing me, my precious. Thank you for holding on so strong. Thank you for teaching me the power of love. You are love,” she added.
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, the actress shared how motherhood changed her. “Avyaan has taught me mindfulness, joy and resilience and just one smile from him can melt all my cares away. I feel even more responsible as a professional now because I want to create a better world for him to grow up in, with my voice and my work.”
Dia Mirza tied the knot with Vaibhav Rekhi, a Mumbai-based businessman, during an intimate event in Mumbai in February 2021. After impressing fans with her performance in Dhak Dhak featuring Sanjana Sanghi, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ratna Pathak Shah along with Rajkumar Rao starrer Bheed, the actress is gearing up for Dhak Dhak 2, which was officially announced days after the release of first movies in 2023.
