Met Gala 2024: Gigi Hadid Is Nothing Less Than A Dream In Floral Ivory Gown
Believe it or not, Gigi Hadid’s Met Gala outfit took a team of more than 70 people over 13,500 hours to craft.

Fashion’s biggest event, the Met Gala, is finally here and it marks a triumphant return of glamour and style. Celebrities and fashion icons from across the globe gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to celebrate. This year’s theme is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. Following the 2024 dress code, The Garden of Time, the red carpet saw some jaw-dropping appearances. Among the stars walking at the prestigious event, Gigi Hadid stole the spotlight in a stunning ivory gown by Thom Browne.

Cameras went clickety-click as soon as she arrived. Of course, her dramatic outfit instantly became the talk of the town. The ivory gown off-the-shoulder gown came with a massive detachable skirt adorned with dramatic ruffles and roses all over. Accentuating her hourglass figure, the dress featured an embroidered yellow 3D rose with green petals at the waistline. Believe it or not, this masterpiece took a team of more than 70 people over 13,500 hours to make the Met outfit. Just the outer layer’s voluminous skirt took a team of 40 people over 8,500 hours to embroider.

Following the Met Gala, this stunning piece will be placed in Thom Browne’s permanent archive, as reported by Vogue. Speaking to the magazine, the American fashion designer said, “It’s always a privilege to watch Gigi come to life. She is a true talent that shines at whatever she does,”

Talking about the masterpiece, he said, “I wanted her look to embody the fragility and immense work that you see in Andrew [Bolton]’s exhibit, blooming on the carpet and into the Metropolitan Museum of Art.”

Gigi Hadid also gave details about her outfit and complimented the designer. She mentioned that even a single rose on her outfit is a work of art. She expressed gratitude for the incredible amount of hours and the dedicated team of people whose work went into crafting the dress. “It’s an honor for me to be able to present this for them, and I always walk the carpet with that in mind. I’m very proud of their work,” she added.

To accessorise her Met outfit, Gigi went for a sleek diamond neckpiece and thin dangling earrings. She kept her short hair loose and donned a bold red lipstick. Gigi Hadid’s stylist, Mimi Cuttrell, was inspired by garden statues wrapped in plants when finalising her look.
