Beyonce, on the other hand, appeared unbothered and stood aside as the clash happened between her sister and husband. At one point, the singer did intervene, standing between her husband and sister, while the security guard attempted to stop her sister. Minutes after the incident, paparazzi captured photos of the trio leaving the building, while Solange was visibly upset.

According to an insider close with Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange, the Bring It On All or Nothing stars’ reaction was triggered by fashion designer Rachel Roy. Allegedly, Jay Z had made an inappropriate comment related to his wife and sister-in-law, leading to Solange getting angry with him. The situation escalated rapidly once they entered the elevator. As per the source, Solange is protective towards Beyonce and couldn’t hear disrespectful remarks related to her sister.
A week after the incident on May 15, 2014, the trio released a joint statement. They stated, “As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behaviour throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day, families have problems, and we’re no different. We love each other, and above all, we are family,” Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange added.
Meanwhile, Solange shared clarity during an interview with Lucky magazine in August, claiming that her family had resolved the matter. She stated that the most crucial thing was that she and her family were on good terms. The artist indicated that any necessary communication about the incident had been addressed and they are in peace.
Eight years after the elevator fight, Beyonce acknowledged the incident on her Grammy-winning album Renaissance’ track Cozy. As per reports, the singer might have pointed fingers at Solange for being an overprotective sister in a particular segment of her song. Similarly, Jay Z took a similar step by addressing the footage in his song Kill JAY Z from his 2017 album 4:44.
Meanwhile, in a 2017 interview with Rap Radar, JAY Z highlighted that his clash with Solange was a thing of the past. Despite the disagreement, their relationship had always been strong and claimed that they only had one disagreement, which didn’t affect their bond.
