Actor Sunil Nagar, who is known for playing Bhishma Pitamah in Shri Krishna, is set to star in a slew of upcoming Television series Tu Kahe Agar and Om Namo Narayan. The actor underwent financial turmoil not long ago. Even his own family abandoned the actor when he was facing a rough patch in his life.
The actor who had been living in a rented house for 5 months, had trouble paying the rent. Sunil Nagar started his acting career in 1990 with the TV show Mulla Naseeruddin. He gained fame with his acting in several prominent television series.
Later, in 1993, Sunil Nagar appeared in the TV series Alif Laila. In the same year, he had the opportunity to play the role of Bhishma Pitamah in Ramanand Sagar’s well-known series Shri Krishna. This role made Sunil Nagar very popular and recognizable to audiences across households.
Just after that Sunil started getting roles in movies too. In 1999, he had a big part in the film Taal. Sunil kept working as an actor, appearing in both movies and TV shows during the 2000s. He showcased his acting skills in different ways, staying active in the entertainment world.
After putting in nearly thirty years of hard work, Sunil Nagar faced a crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2019, he couldn’t find any job opportunities. This led to financial problems, forcing him to sell his house. Eventually, he moved into a rented house. Despite living there, Sunil struggled to pay the rent for five months.
During this period, Sunil became sick, and he didn’t have any money left for treatment. Sunil had to ask people for money to cover his medical expenses. He also reached out to the public, appealing for their help.
In a previous conversation with India.com, the actor mentioned, “I’m also a trained singer. A few days ago, I was offered a singing gig at a restaurant where they were covering my daily expenses. However, when the lockdown was announced, the restaurant closed down. Now, I’m struggling to pay my rent for the past few months.”
He added, “My family has left me alone. I provided my son with the best education, even sending him to a convent school. Yet, here I am today. I have siblings, but none of them care. Luckily, I’m not infected with COVID-19 at the moment, but I do have other health issues. I hope for a brighter future ahead.”
In 2023, Sunil also appeared in a TV series called Mera Sai.
