Sonakshi Sinha made her big-screen debut alongside Salman Khan in ‘Dabangg’ in 2010. Since then, she has reunited with Salman for the sequels, ‘Dabangg 2’ and ‘Dabangg 3.’ In a recent interview on Raj Shamani’s YouTube channel, Sonakshi discussed Salman’s enduring appeal as one of Bollywood’s leading stars. She described Salman as a ‘total contradiction,’ highlighting his blend of carefree attitude and deep commitment.
During the interview, Sonakshi elaborated on Salman’s connection with his audience: “I think it’s a basic connect with their audience that these guys especially have been able to make. And it does come with a lot of commitment to what you are doing. They have been able to crack that… this is what my audience loves about me and that is my strength and I am just going to play on that. And that’s what they have done for like so many years, which is why people love them.”
She specifically pointed out Salman’s intriguing blend of traits, saying: “He is very carefree but he is also very committed. It’s a paradox, it’s a full contradiction. I don’t know how to explain it because I have seen him, and it’s like he doesn’t care about iska kya hoga, uska kya hoga. Mujhe aaj cycle karke jaana hai, main aaj late ho jaunga. Main aaj jaldi set pe aunga. Main aj late khana khaunga (What will happen to me or whether I will cycle to set or I will be late. I will be early on set today or I will eat late today). He’s just so carefree. He does exactly what he wants to do on his time but he is also so committed to his work, it’s very strange. I really don’t know what it is).”
Recently, Salman made headlines due to a shooting incident outside his residence in Mumbai. Anuj Thapan, a suspect arrested in connection with the case, passed away in the hospital earlier this week.
Anuj Thapan was arrested from Punjab’s Sangrur on April 26 and was lodged in a crime branch lock-up at Mumbai police headquarters. Thapan was arrested along with Sonu Kumar Bishnoi for allegedly supplying weapons to shooters Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, who were already arrested, according to the police.
Speaking of Sonakshi Sinha, the actress is currently making headlines for the much-awaited web series Heeramandi. Recently, the actress shared her experience of working with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and playing her character Fareedan.
In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Sonakshi Sinha shared her experience playing the role of Fareedan in Heeramandi. This is the first collaboration between Sonakshi and ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
In the interview, Sonakshi said, “This is a character I have been waiting to do for a very long time. I have always wanted to play a slightly negative, slightly villainous character, and I am thankful to Sanjay sir that he saw me in this role. I don’t know how or why, but I guess that’s just his trust in me as an actor that I will be able to pull it off. It is motivating for an actor when a director like him imagines and attempts to depict you in a way that no one has ever seen you before. So I am so grateful. It has been one of my favourite characters that I have played on-screen.”
