Varun Dhawan is beaming with pride as his niece, Anjini Dhawan, is all set to make her Bollywood debut in the upcoming comedy-drama Binny and Family. He recently attended the trailer launch event at PVR Auditorium where his own first movie Student of the Year was introduced. Varun reflected on how Anjini has forged her way into the film industry and praised the new film as well as her performance. Post the launch, Varun shared several pictures with Anjini and welcomed her to the industry in his style.
Varun shared a series of happy snaps with Anjini where they could be seen dressed up for the trailer launch. Varun sported a white shirt and brown trousers, while Anjini wore a stunning pink dress. In one of the snaps from the event, Varun holds his niece’s hand, showing his support. In the caption, he wrote, “Welcome to the movies.”

Moreover, at the trailer launch, Varun Dhawan addressed the obvious nepotism rumours. The Student of the Year star emphasized how her niece has landed the role by herself without any help from the family. He stated, “I came to know about the film through two friends, Shashank Khaitan and Varun Gupta. They had told me that it is a good film, and I was slightly offended because I wasn’t asked if I could see the film! When I saw the film, I was moved. My father never launched me. We don’t have that tradition, and he doesn’t believe in it. So, we have no hand in what she has done, so it will be wrong for me to take any credit for her success. She has genuinely done this by herself.” Further, the actor appealed to the audience to shower love on her as they did after his first film.
The trailer for Binny and Family promises a wholesome family drama, packed with emotions, light-hearted humour, and generational conflicts. The coming-of-age drama also features another debutante Naman Tripathy along with Anjini Dhawan. The film, set to release on 20th September is directed by Ssanjay Tripaathy and also stars veterans such as Pankaj Kapur, Rajesh Kumar, and Himani Shivpuri.
