Kartik Aaryan and Tara Sutaria sparked dating rumours after they were spotted together on a dinner date. On Saturday night, the paparazzi captured Tara and Kartik leaving the same hotel but separately. In a viral video, Tara was seen making a run from a luxury hotel to her car, avoiding the cameras as she left her dinner date. Amid the dating speculations, some people also thought that their dinner was due to Tara being roped in to play the lead with Kartik in Aashiqui 3.
However, director Anurag Basu has now told the Hindustan Times that these casting rumours are false. He said, “No, the female lead of the film has not been finalised yet. Everything out there is a speculation.”
Earlier, a Filmfare report claimed, “Tara Sutaria has been cast as the female lead in the much-loved franchise. The film is also reportedly supposed to go on floors in January next year.” However, the director has cleared the air now.
Meanwhile, there are still speculations about the actors dating. Neither Kartik nor Tara have addressed these rumours yet. Last month, Kartik and Tara were seen attending an event together. While Kartik looked chic in formal, Tara channelled her inner Barbie in a pink dress. At the time, fans were impressed with the duo and expressed their wish to see them together.
As for Aashiqui 3, Bhushan Kumar had earlier told India Today, “Hopefully, we will start Anurag Basu and Kartik Aaryan’s film by the end of January.” Bhushan Kumar also informed that Aashiqui 3’s pre-production is already underway and the composers are mindfully working on churning out memorable melodies like the previous two movies.
The first two instalments of the film became big hits soon after their release. The first film was released in 1990 and featured Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The second film was released in 2013 with Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur as the leads. The film brought immense fame to the four actors.
