Drake To Take Year-Long Break From Music To Deal With ‘Craziest’ Stomach Issues
"I probably won't make music for a little bit. I'm gonna be real with you. I need to focus on my health first and foremost and I’ll talk about that soon enough," Drake said.

Rapper Drake wants to take a hiatus to focus on his health and well-being. The Toosie Slide hitmaker reveals his plans to take a break from music while speaking to SiriusXM Sound 42’s Table For One. The 36-year-old hip-hop sensation disclosed experiencing “craziest” stomach problems but refrained from sharing details of his health issues. It appears Drake won’t be making new tracks at least for a year. During the interaction, he admitted to having some commitments promised to people but all the rapper can think of currently is prioritising his health.

“I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be real with you. I need to focus on my health first and foremost and I’ll talk about that soon enough,” he said. Drake confirmed there’s “nothing crazy” to worry about, but he wishes to be healthy in life and get it right. The rapper hasn’t made up his mind about how long the hiatus is going to be. “I’m gonna lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe, maybe a year or something, or maybe a little longer,” he added.

The revelation comes soon after Drake dropped his right studio album, For All the Dogs, on October 6. It was in August when the Canadian sensation unveiled the cover art of the recently released album created by his 5-year-old son Adonis Graham. “For All the Dogs, October 6. Cover by Adonis,” he captioned the announcement post on Instagram at the time.

Drake is the executive producer of the new album along with Noel Cadastre, Noah Shebib, and Oliver El-Khatib. For All the Dogs consists of collaborations with popular musicians including SZA, Bad Bunny, J Cole, 21 Savage, and Lil Yachty among others. Notably, the album marks Drake’s third record release in the last two years. It follows Honestly, Nevermind’s premiere in June 2022, and rapper 21 Savage-collaborative record Her Loss in November 2022.

Currently, Drake is also co-headlining his It’s All a Blur Tour alongside 21 Savage. With about 54 concerts, the tour kick-started in Chicago earlier in July and is set to conclude on October 9 in Columbus.
